29 Apr Schimmel Pianos and Pearl River Group Enter a Strategic Alliance
In an exciting move that combines two piano building power-houses, Schimmel Pianos of Germany and Pearl River Pianos of China have entered into a strategic alliance.
This new alliance combines technology and resources, as well as powerful international networks which offer exciting future opportunities to strengthen Schimmel’s position in the premium piano market. New investments will take the Schimmel factory to new heights. We anticipate thrilling developments in the Schimmel piano line.
Schimmel will maintain its production facilities in Braunschweig, Germany, under the management of their fourth generation, Hannes Schimmel-Vogel and Viola Schimmel. The Schimmel family also remains an active shareholder in the company.
Li Jian Ning, general manager of Pearl River, said, “As a renowned international brand, Schimmel will become a new member within the brands of Pearl River. We will strengthen the production facilities in Germany. We will use the capital advantages as a public company to ensure Schimmel’s continued development, realising complementary advantages of both companies for all aspects, including brand marketing and other resources.”
The alliance depends on administrative approvals from local authorities. Hannes Schimmel-Vogel commented, “This move is opening a whole new chapter in our 130-year history as a family business. Together with Pearl River, we want to realize the opportunities of strategic cooperation to have a powerful combination.”
